Certain Ron Paul supporters were recently offended when he was excluded from a poll at the popular blog, Little Green Footballs. Therefore, in the interest of fairness, I have included him in this simple multiple choice test. Just to be fair. Right?
Who wrote that, “If you have ever been robbed by a black teen-aged male, you know how unbelievably fleet-footed they can be.”
A. “Jimmy the Greek”
B. Fisher DeBerry
C. Robert Byrd
D. Ron Paul
Although my first inclination would have been “Jimmy the Greek” who made reference to blacks having “An extra bone in their feet.” Which got him fired from his job. Fisher Deberry, former head football coach at the United States Air Force Academy said, “… Afro-American kids can run very, very well.” He retired the following year. Ninety year old Robert Byrd, former KKK member, is the longest serving member of the United States Senate. If you voted “D” you are correct! Next question:
Who wrote, “Opinion polls consistently show that only about 5 percent of blacks have sensible political opinions, i.e. support the free market, individual liberty and the end of welfare and affirmative action.”
A. Michael Richards
B. Mel Gibson
C. Rush Limbaugh
D. Ron Paul
Michael Richards? Well I’m not going to repeat his comment. Mel Gibson, who is such a religious extremist he thinks his own wife is going to hell? Wrong. Rush Limbaugh, while entirely correct in his assessment of Donovan McNabb, got fired from his sportscasting position at ESPN for suggesting, “the media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well.” If you voted “D” you are correct! Next question:
“Given the inefficiencies of what D.C. laughingly calls the `criminal justice system,’ I think we can safely assume that 95 percent of the black males in that city are semi-criminal or entirely criminal.”
A. Marion Berry, former Mayor of Washington, D.C.
B. Paris Hilton
C. Don Imus
D. Ron Paul
Marion Berry? While the former crack smoking Mayor of Washington, D.C. should be the most knowledgeable about that cities crime statistics, there is no evidence that he made the comment. And, by the way, he was re-elected Mayor after serving his sentence. Paris Hilton? While she is about to “enjoy” the criminal justice system on a first hand basis, she confines her DUI driving to the West Coast. Sixty seven year old Don Imus got fired for calling some young women, “nappy headed ho’s,” and has little to do with this question. I just didn’t want to leave him out. If you voted “D” you are correct!
Update: To the Ron Paul supporters that wish to convey that these words were not written by Ron Paul:
In a 2001 interview with Texas Monthly magazine, Paul acknowledged that the comments were printed in his newsletter under his name, but explained that they did not represent his views and that they were written by a ghostwriter. He further stated that he felt a “moral responsibility” to stand by the words that had been attributed to him, despite the fact that they did not represent his way of thinking:
“They were never my words, but I had some moral responsibility for them…I actually really wanted to try to explain that it doesn’t come from me directly, but they [campaign aides] said that’s too confusing. ‘It appeared in your letter and your name was on that letter and therefore you have to live with it.’”
Yes, his newsletter, with his name on it. He has to live with it.

Actually, if you looked into this you would know that Ron Paul didn’t write these things. A staffer ghost wrote a paper for him that included all of these quotes and Dr. Paul being the man he is took moral responsibility for the words because he didn’t proof read before they were published. Nice job looking into your facts!

So
You are saying the asshole doesn’t write his own opinions, speaks before he reads, does not form his own opinions, has them fed to him by a staffer, vocalizes them publicly blind to what he is saying as he is saying it, and he’s a fucking hero for saying he’s sorry after?
He’s sorry all right.
And you are pissed at us?
ROTF
Fool.

I guess what gets me the most is I’ve seen this same thing over and over on many Ron Paul bashing sites. I can’t help but wonder, what is it people are so afraid of when it comes to Ron Paul? Because he supports the Constitution? Because he supports freedom?
I can’t help but chuckle to myself that this is the best that Ron Paul bashers can do. Keep digging, at least that way you’re wasting your time on something that will never bear fruit.
Peace!

Um you do know that he never said those things right?
They came out in one of his news letters.
So your whole he reads without thinking thing is sorta cracked.
The man has been in politics for what 20 years and the best you can come up with is 3 quotes which were never “said” by him? Seriously why are your panties in a bunch about Ron Paul?
I would be interested to know what you hate about him, you know besides the whole you like living in a welfare state, not having any gun rights and allowing illegals to stream over the boarder faster than water over niagra falls.

RonPaulstiltskin
Rumpelstiltskin was a dwarf
And in the tale of old
He saved the miller’s daughter
By spinning straw to gold.
RonPaulstiltskin is a man
Elected to the House
Who’s running now for President
The people to arouse.
RonPaulstiltskin spins the tale
Of how the US can
Only avert disaster if
It’s Libertarian.
RonPaulstiltskin says that we
Must bring the troops all back
He does not think it wise to fight
Al-Qaeda in Iraq.
Rumpelstiltskin spun the straw
And made it into gold.
RonPaulstiltskin spins the straw
Positions that he holds.
Spinning straw to gold’s a skill
That’s not vouchsafed to man
RonPaulstiltskin can’t make gold
Like Rumpelstiltskin can.

Let’s see, anything negative about Ron Paul he either didn’t actually say, but allowed a junior staffer to say on his behalf, or he was clueless about. Yep, that’s what I want in a President. Either Ron Paul is a racist as his quotes show, or he is a brainless old fool being played by his staff. The only thing to fear here is his supporters who are so willing to explain away this stuff.

So the Ron Pauligists are telling us that Ron Paul should have no accountability for the prolific bigotry in his own newsletter, and we’re all idiots for not doing enough fact checking to know that Paul is only guilty of not fact checking his writers.
The filmmakers who made Jesus Camp should do a similar documentary on Ron Paul political rallies.

For those who still think Paul didn’t write the newsletters himself (and excerpt from the CNN article):
In some excerpts, the reader may be led to believe the words are indeed from Paul, a resident of Lake Jackson, Texas. In the “Ron Paul Political Report” from October 1992, the writer describes carjacking as the “hip-hop thing to do among the urban youth who play unsuspecting whites like pianos.”
The author then offers advice from others on how to avoid being carjacked, including “an ex-cop I know,” and says, “I frankly don’t know what to make of such advice, but even in my little town of Lake Jackson, Texas, I’ve urged everyone in my family to know how to use a gun in self defense. For the animals are coming.
Give it up, Paultards. He wrote it.

It is common knowledge that Ron Paul did not write everything in the “Ron Paul Report”. That was just the name of the newsletter. He wasn’t even the editor.
As for the simple people who think that it is a fatal flaw to not read everything that you’re associated with — you have evidently never had responsibility for anything bigger than a cupcake. I would suggest that pretty much every politician & businessperson on earth has outsourced jobs to other people and left it with them on trust.
The fact that the handful of dodgy 20 year old sentences sound nothing like Paul… than nobody who knows Paul believes it… and that everybody involved in the newsletter says Paul didn’t write on race issues might be a hint.
But hey — if you want to hate people, then I guess you’ll keep hating people. But please understand that it’s the anti-Paul people who are being bigoted.
