Al Gore – In my dream

I was watching a program on the History Channel which stated that more energy strikes our planet in one hour than mankind expends in an entire year. Which, doing the math, indicates that mankind has 1/8470th of the effect on global warming of the sun. Another way to look at it statistically, is that a 1% increase (or decrease) in the suns intensity has 84 times the effect of mankind.

Interesting article, here, about the shrinking polar caps on the planet Mars. Hmm, do you think there might be something in common at work, Al?

You seem to have missed the point. It isn’t whether or not snow is disappearing or not (here or on Mars) but what effect that might have on our ability to live here.

And…given that we are eventually going to run out of fossil fuels, if there is so much energy, why not make the most of it instead of squandering what is left of oil.

I wonder what they are going to do for plastics and transport in 100 years.
