A reminder to all Americans who wish to support our troops – a letter or photographs from home will mean a lot to them. They have a tough job in what is currently the most difficult part of the world.

Lyrics:

When the rain breaks the road
Are you holding on
Are you holding on
To your last good day

When the stone breaks the wheel
Are you holding on
Are you holding on
Til the stone rolls away

And I don’t know
Is this the part where you let go
And tumbling out of a window
Is this the part where you find out
I’m there for you

When the sun leaves the field
Are you holding on
Are you holding on
To the last sweet light

When the flame leaves your eyes
I still see you there
I still see you there
On your darkest night

And I don’t know
Is this the part where you let go
And sinking under a shadow
Is this the part where you find out
I’m there for you now

As your hand’s breaking free
I am holding on
I am holding on
As you’ve held on to me

And I don’t know
Is this the part where we let go
Tumbling out of a window
Is this the part you’re there for me

And I don’t know
Is this the part where you let go
And sinking under a shadow
Is this the part where you find out
I’m there for you
You find out I’m there for you
You find out I’m there for you

That was a pure joy and pleasure to watch and listen to. Thank you! The woman’s voice doing the song was so beautiful. I support my TROOPS and Pray for our Brave Military Men and Women every day God gives me. I thank those now and those before for all they have done to keep this great Country FREE for me and my loved ones.
    God Bless ALL.

I do not think this has much to do with troops rather than couples letting go of whatever it might be that keeps them from having a healthy relationship. Most men need to realize that there are good women. Women that will show them all the love they need. Where you let go of all worries and put complete trust in your partner. that they will fulfill every need you might have, for the rest of their lives.

And no matter what happens, that person will be there, “On your darkest night.” then “You find out I’m there for you” as you have been there for them….

With my wife currently serving in Iraq, I happened upon this post because the little things in life mean so much. The insurance company comercial made me search this song. The little I heard made me drop because the first I heard this was after a teary car ride home after dropping her off at her outbound point. Having already served over there myself, I was at one point that guy in the picture reading the love letter in the middle of nowhere feeling all at once lost and found. Big thanks to the author of not only the song but the power point presentation. It hurts, it will be okay someday soon and to jdub there are plenty of good men and women out there who can take good and bad from this song…I think that the songwriters intent at the end of the day is to take what you can from the song as with all art.

This is a beautiful song. Who wrote it? And who is singing it?

  5. Steve Says:

It works equally for an adult child and a beloved parent nearing the ultimate letting go, especially the sun leaving the field and the flame leaving the eyes. As a child, they held you; at this point in time you hold them. The ebb and flow of life, is life.
