The Los Angeles Times has made reference to a video tape showing Barack Obama at a going-away party for former PLO spokesman Rashid Khalidi, attended by radical Palestinian activists and former Weather Underground terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn. They have refused to release the video.
Please consider these three possibilities:
1. Barack Obama appears in the video and smilingly sits through a presentation of anti-Israeli hate speech. A definite maybe.
2. The Times perhaps believes that the video may inflame Jewish voters to abandon support for Obama. Shouldn’t everyone be permitted to make that decision on their own, based on the contents of the video?
3. There is nothing to the video. The Los Angeles Times has no agenda. Everyone hums Kumbaya and holds hands.
There’s a video out there of Obama saying kind things about Khalidi, and on the general principle that information in an open society shouldn’t be kept secret and that the voters should make up their own minds about whether or not they trust certain candidates, this video should be set free. But a pro-censorship organization called the Los Angeles Times, which has the tape in its possession, is hiding it, for reasons it won’t fully explain. And it’s looking more and more ridiculous each passing day.
