Biden Booed In Philly

November 10, 2008

The American public, recently introduced to the image of President-Elect Obama holding a news conference in front of a lectern with the word “President” displayed in 300 point type, appear already disappointed in their decision:

The Giants and Eagles played in front of a special guest. Vice President-elect Joe Biden watched the game in a luxury suite with Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie. Biden was booed when he was showed [sic?] on the video screen. A/P source

Vice President-elect Biden must be blissfully unaware of the history of Philadelphia sports fans who have a well deserved reputation for nastiness. Heck, if Mother Theresa were still alive, they’d toss a snowball at her.

Biden: Obama’s Inexperience Could Cause WWIII

October 20, 2008
Quite a contrast

Quite a contrast

Sen. Joe Biden (D?) of Delaware, rumored to be the actual running mate of Sen. Barack Obama, noted the lack of foreign policy experience of his running mate and expressed his opinion that other nations may attempt to generate a foreign policy crisis to test Obama’s ability.
The actual quote:

“Mark my words,” the Democratic vice presidential nominee warned at the second of his two Seattle fundraisers Sunday. “It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We’re about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you don’t remember anything else I said. Watch, we’re gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.

“I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate,” Biden said to Emerald City supporters, mentioning the Middle East and Russia as possibilities. source/read more

I can’t say that I disagree with what Sen. Biden is saying, it’s just damn humorous that he calls attention to his running mates inadequacies. Would anyone care to contrast Joe’s prediction to the international communities reaction to the election of President Ronald Reagan? The Islamic Republic of Iran, which held our embassy workers hostage for 444 days, made sure that they were released moments before Reagan was sworn in.

To continue with the Biden quote:

“And he’s gonna need help. And the kind of help he’s gonna need is, he’s gonna need you – not financially to help him – we’re gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community, to stand with him. Because it’s not gonna be apparent initially, it’s not gonna be apparent that we’re right.”

It sounds suspiciously likely that Sen. Biden has begun to receive the National Security briefings that are routinely given to both parties to ensure they are ‘up to speed’ when they enter office in January. The disturbing section of the quote is relating to the unpopularity of a decision which an Obama/Biden team would have to make. Is Biden preparing his defeatist, surrender-happy base for more conflict?

Is Joe Biden the ‘October Surprise’ we’ve become accustomed to in previous elections?

Biden: “Three Letter Word… J O B S”

October 16, 2008

Yikes! A heartbeat away...

Yes, it’s time once again for another Sen. Joe Biden quote:

“John’s last-minute economic plan does nothing to tackle the number one job facing the middle class, and it happens to be, as Barack says, a three letter word: jobs. J-O-B-S,” Biden said, miscounting. source

Vulcan Mind Meld?

October 3, 2008

Senator Joe Biden, in a moment of confusion during last nights poor debate performance, attempts to perform the Vulcan “mind meld” on himself.

Biden. Again.

Sen. Joe Biden again:

We want to take money and put it back in the pocket of middle-class people,” Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., told ABC News’ Kate Snow this morning on “Good Morning America.” (Source)

Here’s a novel idea for all of you folks in Washington, DC. – instead of taking money from middle class folks and then returning it to them, as you suggest, how about staying the hell out of their wallets in the first place?

Joe Biden. Again.

FDR was famous for his "fireside" radio addresses to the nation...

Vice-Presidential candidate Joe Biden to Katie Couric:

“When the stock market crashed, Franklin Roosevelt got on the television and didn’t just talk about the princes of greed,” Biden told Couric. “He said, ‘Look, here’s what happened.'”

Considering the stock market crash and Great Depression began in 1929 when Herbert Hoover was in office, and only one experimental television station was on the air in the United States at the time, showing nothing but silhouette images from motion picture films… He’s close.

What does Presidential hopeful Barack Obama have to say about Smokin’ Joe?:

“I am a great admirer of Sen. Clinton’s,” Obama said on NBC. “Joe Biden is also an outstanding public servant, and I am very proud of the choice that I made.”

In other words, ““Brownie, you’re doin’ one heck of a job.”

Joe Biden on Hillary Clinton: “Might have been a better pick than me”

September 10, 2008

Wow, twice in one day I get to use my Sen. Joe Biden Photoshop:

So, what did he say? Only the most obvious:

“Make no mistake about this, Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be vice president of the United States of America. Lets get that straight,” Biden said in Clinton’s defense.

“She’s easily qualified to be vice president … and quite frankly, might have been a better pick than me. But she’s first rate. I mean that sincerely. She is first rate. So let’s get that straight,” he said. Source

So,  why is Sen. Joe the pick instead of Sen. Clinton (V)? Why is Gov. Sarah Palin (V) being vilified by the left? What do the two have in common? Is the Democratic party in full scale meltdown?
